The present study was carried out at the Liceo San Antonio, located in San Antonio de Desamparados, in the Province of San José. Due to the spirit of service and collaboration that distinguishes the staff and students of the Lyceum, they were asked for their help in analyzing the possibility of incorporating the "Adopt a quebrada" program into their work. The decision to create this program stems from the concern and concern of the human being to see his environment more polluted every day, especially the waters. It is recognized worldwide, which is why it is desired to implement it in some schools and communities in Costa Rica, where each of the teachers and students assumes the responsibility of caring for and protecting a stream or river, in order to have a better quality of water and life. . For the research, a survey was used with questions that allow evaluating the possibility of adopting a stream or river that was near or affected the San Antonio High School. The survey consists of six parts; The questionnaire contained two types of questions: open and closed, short and immediate response. This questionnaire was applied to 55 teachers and 105 students. The study revealed the interest that the teachers and students of the Liceo San Antonio have in incorporating the "Adopt a quebrada" program in their institution and receiving training. 93.10% of the teachers and 85.75% of the students agree and have a positive attitude for this program to be included in the work of their school. But when they are asked to participate in this program, this attitude decreases to 79.31% in the case of teachers and in students to 73.34%. More than 50% of teachers and students have not participated in ecological groups that care about the environment. It was found in this study that both teachers and students have barriers that would affect their participation in the program, such as: I hardly have time, lack of training, not belonging to the same community, which are control, conceptual and attitudinal barriers, respectively. . In response to the results of the research, a strategic plan is proposed to be developed by the teachers and students of the Liceo de San Antonio for the improvement, protection and conservation of the environment through the "Adopt a stream" program.
