Ser seropositivo frente a la dominación, serofobia y vigilancia: El proceso histórico-social de aprehensión de las masculinidades según las historias de vida de HSH con VIH

Abstract

Cuando pensamos en el VIH, nos encontramos frente un panorama caracterizado por múltiples sucesos históricos y la presencia de configuraciones socio estructurales que interpelan a quienes viven con el virus. Por esta razón, la tesis decide indagar sobre el proceso de aprehensión de las masculinidades de quienes viven con VIH a partir del caso de HSH con el virus, para enlazar los impactos y cambios que puede tener el aprehenderse como hombre con VIH para las relaciones sociales dentro de las masculinidades. Para esto se parte de una perspectiva interseccional que examina las conexiones entre género, estatus serológico y orientación sexual e interacciones con instituciones sociales en la comprensión de lo que impera en la realidad del grupo de estudio. Utilizando la técnica de historias de vida se hace el análisis del tema. Siendo así que el estudio resaltó nuevas maneras de pensar sobre las masculinidades que viven con VIH, especialmente a través del empoderamiento de ser hombre seropositivo.

When we think about HIV, we are faced with a panorama characterized by multiple historical events and the presence of socio-structural configurations that question those who live with the virus. For this reason, the thesis decides to investigate the process of apprehending the masculinities of those living with HIV from the case of MSM with the virus, in order to link the impacts and changes that apprehending oneself as a man with HIV can have for social relations. within masculinities. For this, we start from an intersectional perspective that examines the connections between gender, serological status and sexual orientation and interactions with social institutions in understanding what prevails in the reality of the study group. Using the technique of life stories, the analysis of the topic is made. Thus, the study highlighted new ways of thinking about masculinities living with HIV, especially through the empowerment of being an HIV-positive man.
