The present research work responds to a series of studies carried out in the Cooperative sector of Costa Rica and is part of a compendium of similar investigations organized by the Institute of Labor Studies (IESTRA) that mainly seeks to delimit the participation of this very important sector of the Costa Rican economy in the sustainable economic and social development of all its members for the periods 2003 to 2005. The development of this research is based on the largest savings and credit cooperative in the northern part of the country: Coocique R.L. This cooperative has more than 20 branches; its main office is located in Ciudad Quesada, in the canton of San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela. However, its scope has a broad presence nationwide, extending to almost the entire territory. This cooperative maintains its operation through different types of savings: the main one is the percentage contribution on the salary, then it offers other types of savings such as: at sight, future and Christmas. In addition, there are different types of credit lines, such as: housing, personal, health, study, etc. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
