Turismo médico en Costa Rica: un estudio sobre oportunidades de negocio e iniciativas innovadoras: 2008-2012.

Abstract

No existe una definición internacional aceptada para el término de turismo de la salud o médico, sin embargo, en las publicaciones, revistas, libros y textos de internet lo describen como un fenómeno global que consiste en el viaje a otra ciudad o país para recibir algún tipo de tratamiento o atención médica (como cirugías, tratamientos dentales, rehabilitación, etc.), o bien, del tipo de bienestar, como tratamientos estéticos o en spa, entre otros.

There is no internationally accepted definition for the term tourism of the health or medical, however, in the publications, magazines, books and texts of Internet describe it as a global phenomenon that consists of the trip to another city or country to receive some type of treatment or medical care (such as surgeries, dental treatments, rehabilitation, etc.), or the type of wellness, such as beauty or spa treatments, among others.
