Climate change is seen as a major concern in the current context by international organizations such as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The risks of this phenomenon have also been considered by the different States. For example, Costa Rica signed a National pact for the Sustainable Development Goals (September, 2016), which includes Climate Action as a priority issue. Therefore, to address it, as a result of the teaching experience at the university, it is considered that for training on this topic, it is not only about transmitting knowledge and research techniques; but all this should be complemented from humanistic, social and citizen perspectives that seek to awaken the critical spirit of the student body, reinforcing and expanding their compre-hensive training and promoting the practice of ethical and moral values, from the personal, professional and community, as part of the mission of Higher Education. This paper presents three case studies given at the National University, Costa Rica. The first one deals with the experience of the course "Humanistic Perspective of Climate Change" of the Center for General Studies, which is given to first year students of all careers. The second one deals with the final graduation work of the Administration Career, specifically in the courses of Research Work I and Research Work II, and the third one consists of the experience of the Network of Friends of the Pirro River as an articulation between the academy and the community through Open Science, Science Dissemination and Citizen Science tools.
