The emphasis on this approach accentuates stigmas and stereotypes about the indigenous world and makes invisible the political resistance of these peoples, which, in 2018, celebrates 516 years without stopping. This book attempts to unveil some tendencies of these processes of resistance and political mobilization, and to recognize their current importance. We try to address here the incidence of the indigenous political movement in order to build their human and indigenous rights in the Costa Rican political context and to be recognized as a collective subject, as a social and political actor: organized indigenous youth, women and men, in struggle for the defense of their lands, territories, culture and dignity, who seek the protection of Mother Earth. revitalizing their ways of life, and establishing alliances with non-indigenous sectors.
