Posibles perspectivas de la Puesta en Marcha de APM Terminals.

Abstract

El proyecto de investigación, a grandes rasgos, detalla las ventajas y desventajas del sistema portuario costarricense desde hace veinticinco años, con la finalidad de entender si el nuevo proyecto portuario que concedió Costa Rica a la empresa Holandesa APM Terminals es la opción idónea de inversión y mejora para el país y para la zona atlántica. A partir del análisis realizado se identificaron deficiencias para Puerto Caldera y Puerto Limón: infraestructura física, gestión operativa y administrativa, marco legal e institucional y tecnología. Con base en lo anterior, a nivel de política gubernamental se han propuesto acciones independientes a modo de solución, como son el Proyecto de concesión a APM Terminals. La metodología del artículo será descriptiva, con diálogo intencional. APM Terminals construirá el nuevo muelle de Limón y traerá prosperidad a la provincia, y competencia a los sectores portuarios de la zona.The research project, broadly speaking, details the advantages and disadvantages of the Costa Rican port system for twenty five years, in order to understand if the new port project that gave Costa Rica the Dutch APM TERMINALS company is a suitable option for investment and improvement for the country and for the Atlantic zone. From the analysis identified deficiencies to Puerto Limón and Puerto Caldera: physical infrastructure, operational and administrative management, legal and institutional framework and technology. Based on the above at the level of Government policy have been proposed independent remedy actions, such as the project of granting to APM Terminals. The methodology of the article will be descriptive, with intentional dialogue. APM Terminals will build the new pier of lemon and will bring prosperity to the province of Limon, and competition to the port sectors in the area.
