Resumen
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar los esquemas cognitivo, conductuales y emocionales asociados con la construcción de la imagen corporal de un grupo de adolescentes entre 10 y 13 años, que sufrieron quemaduras en su niñez y que asistieron a la Unidad de Cuidado Integral del Niño Quemado del Hospital Nacional de Niños. Se identificaron las principales cogniciones, emociones y estrategias de afrontamiento presentes en dicho proceso. Los esquemas cognitivo, conductuales y emocionales se refieren a aquellas representaciones mentales como medio de construcción y organización de la imagen corporal relacionada con las secuelas de la quemadura como un evento activador y con las experiencias en la adolescencia ante los cambios corporales, cognitivos, emocionales y sociales, como principales desencadenadores de pensamientos, emociones y conductas. Se fundamenta en un tipo de estudio cualitativo-descriptivo-comprensivo cuyo objetivo principal fue describir al mismo tiempo que comprender la estructura del proceso antes descrito en adolescentes que sufrieron quemaduras en la infancia. Dentro de los resultados principales de esta investigación se rescatan que los adolescentes logran identificar la imagen corporal como una construcción compleja que incluye elementos perceptuales, subjetivos y conductuales, que determinan en gran medida la construcción de una imagen corporal saludable que favorezca la salud integral de este grupo poblacional.
The present investigation aimed to analyze the cognitive, behavioral and emotional schemes associated with the construction of the body image of a group of adolescents between 10 and 13 years, who suffered burns in their childhood and who attended the integral care unit of the burned child of the National Children's Hospital. The main cognitions, emotions and coping strategies present in this process were identified. Cognitive, behavioral and emotional schemes refer to those mental representations as a means of construction and organization of body image related to the sequelae of burn as an activating event and with adolescence experiences in the face of bodily, cognitive, emotional and social changes, as main triggers of thoughts, emotions and behaviors. It is based on a type of qualitative-descriptive-understanding study whose main objective was to describe at the same time as to understand the structure of the process described above in adolescents who suffered burns in childhood. Among the main results of this research, it is rescued that adolescents manage to identify body image as a complex construction that includes perceptual, subjective and behavioral elements, which largely determine the construction of a healthy body image that favors the integral health of this population group.
