Percepción social mediante redes sociales para definir las aves más bellas de Costa Rica

Abstract

Reusmen. De las 910 especies reportadas para Costa Rica, no existe documentación alguna en la que se trate en definir cuál es el ave más bella del país. Es por ello que se trabajó en esta línea, y mediante la utilización de una encuesta utilizando las redes sociales (Facebook), se obtuvo información sobre cuáles serían estas aves. Un total de 165 especies fueron mencionadas dentro de esta lista como las más bellas: Pharomachrus mocinno, Spizaetus ornatus, Chiroxiphia linearis entre otros obtuvieron los primeros lugares. Sin duda la información aquí obtenida, refleja la importancia que tienen ciertas especies por su atractivo (plumaje, comportamiento, canto, entre otros). Información que podría ser utilizada como herramienta para aprovechar un peso más, para la conservación de ciertas especies con intereses, no solo ecológicos si no atractivos para el país.

Abstract. Of the 910 species reported for Costa Rica, there is no documentation that attempts to define which is the most beautiful bird in the country. That is why we worked on this line of inquiry, and through a survey using social media (Facebook), we obtained information about which birds these might be. A total of 165 species were mentioned in this list as the most beautiful: Pharomachrus mocinno, Spizaetus ornatus, Chiroxiphia linearis, among others, took the top spots. Undoubtedly, the information obtained here reflects the importance of certain species due to their attractiveness (plumage, behavior, song, among others). This information could be used as a tool to gain more weight for the conservation of certain species that are not only of ecological interest but also attractive to the country.
