This article addresses the notion of the Double, according to Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis, and its relation to three Julio Cortazar’s short stories. The texts are read from the perspective of the uncanny, as one of the possible approaches that can be applied to Cortazar’s writings, due to the openness and complexity of the topic of the Double. In spite of the va- riety of the Cortazar’s Double in the different stories, it retains an essence described here.
