Propuesta de capacitación en educación ambiental para maestros de Barva y San Rafael

Abstract

Este estudio se realizó con los docentes de las escuelas del circuito 04 de la Dirección de Enseñanza de Heredia, que corresponde a los cantones de Barva y San Rafael que se encuentran ubicadas en la parte alta de la Cuenca del Río Segundo. Estas escuelas se encuentran dentro de un ambiente cuyas aguas se deterioran cada día más, principalmente porque son contaminadas por desechos domésticos, de los beneficios de café, de las industrias, de viveros y de productos aplicados a la agricultura. Existen otros factores que indirectamente contribuyen al deterioro de dichas aguas: el pastoreo excesivo, la deforestación irracional, que erosionan y deterioran el suelo. Esta investigación de tipo descriptiva (Hernández et al., 1994: pág.: 60:61), se realizó con el objetivo de poder identificar las necesidades de capacitación en tópicos ambientales y en educación ambiental, que tienen los docentes que laboran en estas instituciones, con el propósito de que contribuyan en la rehabilitación de la parte alta de la Cuenca del Río Segundo. Se inició el estudio con la aplicación de un cuestionario a 40 docentes en servicio de 15 centros educativos de los cantones de Barva y San Rafael. El cuestionario se hizo en base a los contenidos programáticos de Estudios Sociales y Ciencias de los Programas de Educación General Básica del Ministerio de Educación. Una vez que se recolectaron y analizaron los datos, se procedió a identificar y hacer un listado de las técnicas y tópicos por niveles, seleccionados por los maestros, en los que solicitaban material de apoyo para impartir lecciones, con una perspectiva acorde con la educación ambiental. Como respuesta a los resultados se procedió a elaborar una propuesta de capacitación en educación ambiental, para los docentes de las escuelas de Barva y San Rafael.

This study was carried out with the teachers of the schools of circuit 04 of the Directorate of Education of Heredia, which corresponds to the cantons of Barva and San Rafael, which are located in the upper part of the Segundo River Basin. These schools are located in an environment whose waters deteriorate every day, mainly because they are polluted by domestic waste, coffee processing, industries, nurseries and products applied to agriculture. There are other factors that indirectly contribute to the deterioration of these waters: excessive grazing, irrational deforestation, which erode and deteriorate the soil. This descriptive research (Hernández et al., 1994: p .: 60:61), was carried out with the objective of being able to identify the training needs in environmental topics and in environmental education, that teachers who work in these institutions have , with the purpose of contributing to the rehabilitation of the upper part of the Río Segundo Basin. The study began with the application of a questionnaire to 40 teachers in service from 15 educational centers in the cantons of Barva and San Rafael. The questionnaire was made based on the programmatic contents of Social Studies and Sciences of the Basic General Education Programs of the Ministry of Education. Once the data had been collected and analyzed, we proceeded to identify and make a list of the techniques and topics by levels, selected by the teachers, in which they requested support material to teach lessons, with a perspective consistent with environmental education. . In response to the results, a proposal for training in environmental education was prepared for teachers in the schools of Barva and San Rafael.
