Abstract

El artículo analiza cómo la política exterior nicaragüense entre 1979 y 1986 fue profundamente moldeada por el conflicto con la administración estadounidense de Ronald Reagan. El tema central es la confrontación entre el modelo político impulsado por el Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN) y los intereses geoestratégicos de Estados Unidos, lo que convirtió la política exterior nicaragüense en una estrategia de supervivencia frente a una presión externa constante.

The article analyzes how Nicaraguan foreign policy between 1979 and 1986 was profoundly shaped by the conflict with the U.S. administration of Ronald Reagan. The central theme is the confrontation between the political model promoted by the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) and the geostrategic interests of the United States, which turned Nicaraguan foreign policy into a survival strategy in the face of constant external pressure.
