Resumen
El concepto y la imagen que tenemos de las personas adultas mayores forman parte de lo que hemos aprendido de la cultura en la cual vivimos.
En los tiempos bíblicos, el adulto mayor era considerado un miembro muy respetado, amado y comprendido, pues, según la Palabra de Dios entre los estatutos que debía cumplir el pueblo de Dios estaba:
“Delante de las canas te levantarás, y honrarás el rostro del anciano, y de tu Dios tendrás temor." Levítico 19:32
The concept and image we have of older adults are part of what we have learned from the culture in which we live. In biblical times, the elderly was considered a highly respected, loved, and understood member, because, according to God's Word, among the statutes that God's people had to fulfill were: "Thou shalt rise up before gray hairs, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God." Leviticus 19:32
