Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la distribución del morfema no del buglere, el cual en la visión anterior se describía como marcador de sujetos agentes de una lengua del tipo activo/no activo. Dado que ese no es el caso del buglere, pues en Quesada (2006) se demostró que esta lengua sigue el patrón nominativo-acusativo, queda por demostrar y explicar la(s) función(es) de no. Mediante un análisis cuantitativo de la distribución de este morfema en narraciones publicadas (Margery & Rodríguez 1992), se demuestra que las funciones actuales de no tienen que ver principalmente con la expresión del estatus informacional de los participantes, a pesar de que también desempeña otras funciones (e.g. posesión).

This paper analyzes the distribution of the Buglere morpheme no, said to mark agentive subjects in an alleged active/non-active alignment. In Quesada (2006), it was shown that Buglere exhibits nominative-accusative alignment; that being the case, the role of no must be described and explained. A quantification of the instances of this morpheme in the narratives contained in Margery & Rodriguez (1992) shows that the current functions of no are essentially related to the expression of information-structure status of participants, although it still fulfills other functions (e.g. possession).
