Abstract

Es indudable que las Escuelas de Bibliotecología están preparando a los estudiantes para enfrentar los inminentes cambios que afectan la profesión bibliotecológica. El plan de estudios debe asegurar a los estudiantes una sólida formación que les permita a los profesionales competir en un ambiente Tecnocratizado con absoluta confianza y seguridad. El bibliotecólogo debe ser un transmisor de Innovación y comunicación y debe desenvolverse en un mundo competitivo, en donde debe ser agresivo, dinámico, líder, capaz de adoptar todo el cúmulo tecnológico y científico que desarrollan nuestras sociedades. Pero ante todo debe ser excelente y buscar la excelencia en todas sus actuaciones y en todas las funciones y actividades que realiza para satisfacer a un cliente ávido de información y de expectativas.

There is no doubt that library schools are preparing students to face the impending changes affecting the library profession. The curriculum must assure students a solid formation that will allow professionals to compete in a Technocratized environment with absolute confidence and security. The librarian must be a transmitter of innovation and communication and must develop in a competitive world, where he/she must be aggressive, dynamic, leader, capable of adopting all the technological and scientific accumulation that our societies develop. But above all, he/she must be excellent and seek excellence in all his/her actions and in all the functions and activities he/she performs in order to satisfy a client eager for information and expectations.
