Propuesta de creación de una Biblioteca Pública Municipal en la comunidad del Cantón de Quepos, Puntarenas

Resumen
Plantea dos objetivos, el primero consiste en diagnosticar a la población usuaria del cantón de Quepos sobre las necesidades de información que presentan en los ámbitos educativos, social, económico y cultural, además de los mecanismos que utilizan para informarse y las instituciones que les brindan servicios de información. El segundo objetivo se concentra en la elaboración de una propuesta de creación de la Biblioteca Pública Municipal en el Cantón de Quepos, con el fin de solventar las necesidades de información de la población.
Metodología: enfoque mixto y de tipo descriptivo y proyectivo. Se consultan fuentes de información personales y documentales; las fuentes personales se conforman por la población del cantón de Quepos, algunos grupos como el sector educativo (estudiantes y docentes), sector agricultura, la Asociación de Desarrollo y el personal de la Municipalidad de Quepos, entre otros. Fuentes documentales se consultan: documentos de la IFLA/UNESCO, el Plan de Desarrollo Rural Territorial del Cantón de Quepos, datos del INEC, el SINABI, el Plan de Mejoramiento de Bibliotecas Municipales de San José, entre otros.
Los resultados obtenidos permiten puntualizar las necesidades informacionales presentes en la población encuestada relacionadas con el apoyo académico, mecanismos de información, instituciones que brindan servicios específicos de información, información cultural y resguardo de esta, espacios recreativos, entre otras.
En conclusión se crea la propuesta de biblioteca pública municipal, la cual contiene los siguientes elementos: la organización administrativa, la descripción de los recursos de infraestructura, financieros, humanos y tecnológicos; la identificación de los recursos documentales y los servicios y productos de información para solventar las necesidades de esta población.
It proposes two objectives, the first is to diagnose the user population of the canton of Quepos about their information needs in the educational, social, economic and cultural areas, as well as the mechanisms they use to get information and the institutions that provide them with information services. The second objective is focused on the elaboration of a proposal for the creation of a Municipal Public Library in the Canton of Quepos, in order to meet the information needs of the population. Personal and documentary sources of information were consulted; the personal sources are made up of the population of the canton of Quepos, some groups such as the educational sector (students and teachers), the agricultural sector, the Development Association and the staff of the Municipality of Quepos, among others. Documentary sources consulted: IFLA/UNESCO documents, the Rural Territorial Development Plan of the Canton of Quepos, data from INEC, SINABI, the Improvement Plan for the Municipal Libraries of San José, among others. The results obtained allow us to point out the informational needs of the surveyed population related to academic support, information mechanisms, institutions that provide specific information services, cultural information and its safekeeping, recreational spaces, among others. In conclusion, the proposal for a municipal public library is created, which contains the following elements: administrative organization, description of infrastructure, financial, human and technological resources, identification of documentary resources and information services and products to meet the needs of this population.
