Desarrollo histórico y conceptual de la orientación vocacional en Costa Rica

Resumen
En el marco de la investigación: Desafíos de la orientación vocacional en diversos contextos laborales de profesionales de orientación en Costa Rica, fase I: 2020-2024, se presentan los primeros hallazgos del proceso de investigación teórica, denominado avance I realizado durante el año 2020, que tuvo como objetivo establecer el desarrollo histórico y conceptual de la orientación vocacional en Costa Rica para comprender los desafíos, logros y limitaciones actuales de esta área disciplinar. Lo cual se determinó por medio de un proceso de búsqueda de datos, análisis y reflexión de las investigadoras, entre los criterios más relevantes se valoró la documentación existente, investigaciones previas y la trayectoria de la disciplina en las universidades públicas y privadas que actualmente imparten la carrera de orientación. A partir de ello, este artículo presenta los principales resultados, distribuidos en cinco apartados que abordan: I. Desarrollo histórico; II. Formación profesional según planes de estudio de tres universidades; III. Aportes de entidades gremiales; IV. El recuento de algunas propuestas en orientación y V. Finalizando con las principales conclusiones y hallazgos. A partir de los resultados se efectúan los informes generales de esta primera etapa del estudio y se establece como aporte a la disciplina la elaboración de este artículo que incluye la conceptualización histórica de la orientación vocacional en Costa Rica.
In the framework of the research on Challenges of vocational guidance in various work contexts of guidance professionals in Costa Rica, phase I: 2020-2024, the first findings of the theoretical research process, called Advancement I, carried out during 2020 are presented, which aimed to establish the historical and conceptual development of vocational guidance in Costa Rica to understand the current challenges, achievements, and limitations of this disciplinary area. This was determined through a process of data search, analysis, and reflection done of the researchers. Among the most relevant criteria, the existing documentation, previous research, and the trajectory of the discipline in the public and private universities that currently teach the Orientation career were valued. Based on the previous, this article presents the main results, divided into five sections that address: I. Historical development; II. Professional training according to the study plans of three universities: III. Contributions from union entities; IV. The count of some proposals in orientation and V. Ending with the main conclusions and findings. Based on the results, the general reports of this first stage of the study are made and the elaboration of this article is established as a contribution to the discipline, which includes the historical conceptualization of vocational guidance in Costa Rica.
