This project presents a methodological guide for the tenth level Biology teacher, for the IV Cycle of Diversified Education of the Ministry of Public Education in Costa Rica. To carry it out, the methodology used by two biology teachers from two day schools in the central plateau was analyzed. The research responds to a naturalistic-humanistic study, focused on a qualitative approach with an initial exploratory perspective. The literature shows that, in order to achieve significant learning, it is necessary for teachers to use a methodology based on the learning styles of the students, promoting dynamic, creative and innovative mediation activities. In the collection of information, techniques such as the interview (to the teachers) and the Honey-Alonso questionnaire of learning styles applied to the students were used. The studied sample consisted of two professors and a total of thirty students. The main results show that the most frequent methodological strategies are the questionnaire and the lectures, likewise, teachers show a deficient level of knowledge and training, with respect to Biotechnology; In addition, the predominant learning style is theoretical. The conclusions indicate that the current challenge of the teacher is to incorporate into the classroom the aspects covered by biotechnology, in a precise, correct and creative way, giving students the opportunity to develop their analytical skills to understand the scope of biotechnology and its implications. Finally, teachers are recommended to develop this proposal, selecting the activities according to their availability of infrastructure, time and resources, taking into account their own educational context.
