Here, the results of a study that proposed to analyze to what extent older adults are making use of complementary medicine are reported, what results they have had and what are the personal opinions they have regarding it. A survey was applied to 102 elderly people selected non-randomly and for convenience. Among the most relevant results, it was obtained that: Most make use of CCSS health services, which could be related to the fact that most are pensioned by it; most have used natural medicine, but prefer the traditional one; Of the people who prefer natural medicine, they prefer it for "not harming and being healthier", since "ordinary medicine affects the stomach", however, some perceive that the latter is more effective and safer than the natural one; Regarding the knowledge that people have about natural medicine, it is generally considered "very good" or "good" and that it may well be complementary to traditional medicine, an alternative, but not a substitute; In general, the elderly people believe positively in traditional medicine, but they express their disagreement with the attention to their person in a comprehensive way; providing warmer care and more detailed and exhaustive review and examinations by medical professionals, together with complementary natural medicine treatments, would be highly regarded by the elderly; Of the people who answered that natural medicine should be used, a good percentage argue that because it is very effective, it has no side effects and is healthier; People who have used natural medicine have been benefited by it by curing or relieving their ailments and more than half of the people surveyed say they have used both types of medicine and a large percentage say they have used both.
