Resumen
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo principal Investigar la influencia de los factores sociales, educativos y psicológicos en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de noveno nivel del Liceo UNESCO, circuito 01 de la Dirección Regional de Educación de Pérez Zeledón, durante el I y II periodo del año 2007. Este trabajo de investigación responde a un estudio de tipo descriptivo, enfatizado en un enfoque cuantitativo. La literatura consultada enfoca temas relacionados con el problema investigado. Las variables son la incidencia de los factores sociales, educativos y psicológicos en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de noveno nivel del Liceo UNESCO. La población estuvo conformada por doscientos estudiantes y veinticinco profesores a cargo nivel. Para obtener la información se utilizaron tres instrumentos, aplicado a estudiantes y profesores. El análisis de datos se realizó por variable, de acuerdo con la información presentada en cuadros y gráficos. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el apoyo que les brinda los padres es de gran importancia para el rendimiento académico de los alumnos. Además, que el trato y el interés que le muestran los docentes a la materia promueven el mejoramiento del rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. Entre las principales recomendaciones se sugiere: A los estudiantes: Estudiar frecuentemente para adquirir mejor conocimiento de la materia y aprovechar el tiempo que pasan con los padres. A los docentes: Incentivar y practicar juegos antes de los exámenes con el fin de que puedan mejorar el rendimiento académico de los alumnos. Por ultimo se presentan las referencias bibliográficas y los anexos que consisten en los instrumentos que se utilizaron para la recolección de la información.
The main objective of this research was to investigate the influence of social, educational and psychological factors on the academic performance of ninth grade students of Liceo UNESCO, circuit 01 of the Regional Directorate of Education of Pérez Zeledón, during the first and second periods of 2007. This research work responds to a descriptive study, emphasizing a quantitative approach. The literature consulted focuses on topics related to the investigated problem. The variables are the incidence of social, educational and psychological factors on the academic performance of ninth grade students at Liceo UNESCO. The population consisted of two hundred students and twenty-five teachers in charge of the level. Three instruments were used to obtain the information, applied to students and teachers. The data analysis was carried out by variable, according to the information presented in tables and graphs. The results obtained show that the support provided by parents is of great importance for the students' academic performance. In addition, the treatment and interest shown by teachers in the subject promote the improvement of students' academic performance. Among the main recommendations it is suggested: To students: Study frequently to acquire better knowledge of the subject and take advantage of the time they spend with parents. To teachers: Encourage and practice games before exams in order to improve students' academic performance. Finally, the bibliographical references and the annexes are presented, which consist of the instruments used to collect the information.
