The low academic performance in Mathematics in secondary education and the rejection that many students present towards this discipline, have been the subject of analysis by various educational authorities. However, on different occasions only elements of the curriculum have been taken into consideration and internal variables such as emotions, feelings, beliefs and fears with which students enter the classroom have been left aside. Thus, attitudes constitute a fundamental aspect in learning and have gradually been taken into consideration in recent years by various researchers as an element that can explain, at least partially, the difficulties that this discipline represents for many people. The importance of attitudes lies in the fact that they determine the way to encode the information that is collected from the environment and the reaction or judgment to these observations. These considerations and the researchers' own experience as Mathematics teachers motivated the study whose results are reported in this document, which aimed to determine the attitude towards Mathematics of the Y students from three schools. urban officials, the Napoleón Quesada Salazar High School, the Carlos Pascua Zúñiga School and the Belén Bilingual High School. Those elements in which this attitude is positive will be identified, those in which it is negative and it will be established if there are differences in the attitude according to the educational institution to which the students belong, according to the level they are studying. and with the gender of each one. It is expected that the results obtained promote spaces for reflection, not only for the researchers themselves, but also for the educational community in general. This study is divided into five chapters. In chapter I, called "Introduction", both international and national antecedents are presented, the study problem, the justification and importance of carrying out this research, as well as the proposed objectives, are presented. Chapter II or Theoretical Framework presents as a summary several theories, research and various supporting documents, all relevant to this study. In Chapter III, the way in which the investigation was organized is discussed. The type of research, the questions that guided this study, as well as the subjects and research variables are exposed. In addition, the two techniques used for data collection: semantic differential and questionnaire. The reliability of the instruments is analyzed, as well as the procedure used for data analysis. Chapter IV "Presentation of analysis and results" outlines the strategies that were used for data analysis, as well as the results obtained. Chapter V, "Conclusion is and recommendations", presents the main agreements and ideas, which were generated from the investigation, as well as the pertinent recommendations derived from them. As a final element of the document, the bibliographical references and the annexes of the work appear.
