Resumen
La Certificación de Sostenibilidad Turística (CST) es un proceso normativo auspiciado por el Instituto Costarricense de Turismo. Optar por esta norma es una decisión voluntaria, y puede acceder a ella cualquier empresa de turismo. Dentro de sus 4 ámbitos, cuenta con el Ámbito Social, el cual es objeto de análisis en este documento, y su aplicación a un hotel de lujo de primer nivel ubicado en la comunidad de Santa Teresa de Cajón, de Pérez Zeledón, San José, Costa Rica. Este trabajo de investigación pretende recopilar información sobre el aporte del Ámbito Social del CST, en el caso aplicado al hotel Hacienda Alta Gracia, con la finalidad de interpretar el verdadero aporte de la certificación a la comunidad, contemplando elementos sociales, rurales, y de desarrollo sostenible, a través de procesos de consulta de la normativa aplicada en el hotel, y los efectos que esta causó a los habitantes de la comunidad, por medio de recolección de datos, recorridos de trabajo, y acercamiento a los habitantes de la zona, dando como resultado la falta de un involucramiento real de la norma, y el poco interés genuino por colaborar con las necesidades de la comunidad.
The certification of tourism sustainability is a normative process sponsored by the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism. Norm that any tourism company, whether car rental, hotels, travel agencies and / or tour operators, can voluntarily participate in obtaining it. Social Area, which is the object of analysis in this document, and its application to a first-class luxury hotel located in the community of Santa Teresa de Cajón, de Pérez Zeledón, San José, Costa Rica. This research work aims to collect information on the contribution of the Social Field of the CST, in the case applied to the Hacienda AltaGracia hotel, to interpret the true contribution of the certification, to the community, contemplating social, rural, and social elements. Sustainable development, through consultation processes of the regulations applied in the hotel, and the effects that this caused to the inhabitants of the community, through data collection, work tours, and approach to the inhabitants of the area, resulting in the lack of a real involvement of the norm, and the little genuine interest in collaborating with the needs of the community.
