The relations between religious institutions (of different faiths) and the Central American States continually produce social and legal difficulties. Since the concordats constitute a basic antecedent - not completely surpassed - of these relationships, their knowledge can facilitate the solution of these problems. Transcribe the text of the concordats, add theological and historical considerations, to make reading more profitable. The purpose of the concordats is to preserve the (community) freedoms of the Church, which include the free internal organization of the Church (appointment of its authorities, creation of dioceses and parishes, free communication with the Pope) and seek to protect ecclesiastical rights threatened by the State in mixed matters (education, family, religious congregations and ecclesiastical properties).
