Informe final de labores área de ciencias, 1985

Abstract

La Licenciada Rosaura Matarrita, coordinadora del Área de Ciencias, presenta el informe final correspondiente al año 1985. En este documento se detallan los diferentes proyectos desarrollados en los ámbitos de Docencia, Extensión e Investigación, con una descripción de los logros alcanzados, las actividades ejecutadas y las principales limitaciones encontradas durante el período. En el campo de la docencia, se ofrece una cuantificación detallada de los cursos impartidos, incluyendo los datos de matrícula inicial y matrícula final, con el propósito de analizar la participación y permanencia estudiantil a lo largo del año lectivo. En el área de investigación, se presentan los objetivos alcanzados, las actividades realizadas y las dificultades enfrentadas. Se destaca especialmente el Proyecto Apícola sobre la Abeja Africanizada en Pérez Zeledón, en el cual se describen los avances obtenidos, las acciones ejecutadas y las limitaciones que condicionaron su desarrollo. Asimismo, se analiza la propuesta para la apertura en la Región Brunca de la carrera de Bachillerato y Licenciatura en Ciencias Forestales, proveniente de la Sede Central. Durante el segundo semestre de 1985, se proyecta además el inicio de la investigación sobre tecnologías de secado solar, con el fin de promover alternativas sostenibles en el aprovechamiento energético. En el ámbito de la extensión universitaria, se resalta el inicio del Programa de Mejoramiento de la Enseñanza de las Ciencias y las Matemáticas (PROMECIMA), implementado en 19 colegios de la Región Brunca. Este programa busca fortalecer las capacidades docentes y elevar la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en dichas áreas.

Rosaura Matarrita, coordinator of the Science Department, presents the final report for 1985. This document details the different projects developed in the areas of Teaching, Outreach, and Research, with a description of the achievements, activities carried out, and main limitations encountered during the period. In the field of teaching, a detailed quantification of the courses taught is provided, including initial and final enrollment data, with the aim of analyzing student participation and retention throughout the academic year. In the area of research, the objectives achieved, the activities carried out, and the difficulties encountered are presented. Special mention is made of the Beekeeping Project on Africanized Bees in Pérez Zeledón, which describes the progress made, the actions taken, and the limitations that affected its development. It also analyzes the proposal from the Central Headquarters to open a Bachelor's and Master's degree program in Forestry Sciences in the Brunca Region. During the second half of 1985, research on solar drying technologies is also planned to begin, with the aim of promoting sustainable alternatives in energy use. In the area of university outreach, we highlight the launch of the Program for the Improvement of Science and Mathematics Education (PROMECIMA), implemented in 19 schools in the Brunca Region. This program seeks to strengthen teaching skills and improve the quality of the teaching-learning process in these areas.
