Resumen
Esta investigación tuvo como propósito analizar los factores que provocan la deserción escolar en sétimo año para diseñar una propuesta educativa a través de actividades dirigidas a docentes, estudiantes desertores y a sus respectivos padres de familia que favorezcan la permanencia de los estudiantes en el Liceo Roberto Brenes Mesén. La investigación responde al paradigma Naturalista, en el enfoque cualitativo y dentro de la clasificación descriptiva, que por su profundidad y finalidad permite identificar factores que son importantes para esta investigación. La literatura consultada muestra que en los últimos años la educación costarricense se ha visto afectada por la Deserción Escolar y principalmente en sétimo año como se refleja en el estado de la educación (2005). Para realizar el proceso de sistematización se diseñó entrevistas y cuestionarios por lo que fue necesaria la construcción de cuadros y se les adjunta una interpretación respectiva, de acuerdo con la temática de la investigación. La población estuvo conformada por diez profesores de la institución que imparten sétimo año, diez estudiantes desertores y sus respectivos padres, todos escogidos al azar. Los principales resultados muestran que los problemas económicos, el rendimiento académico, ausentismo y la motivación son los principales factores que llevan al estudiante a que abandonen las aulas.
The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors that cause school dropout in the seventh year to design an educational proposal through activities aimed at teachers, dropout students and their respective parents that favor the permanence of students in the Roberto Brenes Mesén High School. . The research responds to the Naturalist paradigm, in the qualitative approach and within the descriptive classification, which due to its depth and purpose allows the identification of factors that are important for this research. The consulted literature shows that in recent years Costa Rican education has been affected by school dropouts and mainly in the seventh year as reflected in the state of education (2005). In order to carry out the systematization process, interviews and questionnaires were designed, for which the construction of tables was necessary and a respective interpretation is attached to them, according to the theme of the investigation. The population was made up of ten professors of the institution who teach the seventh year, ten dropout students and their respective parents, all chosen at random. The main results show that economic problems, academic performance, absenteeism and motivation are the main factors that lead students to drop out of school.
