The following Final Graduation Project addresses the topic of improving the image and market positioning of JR New Fruits in the U.S. market through the criteria of excellence, sustainability, and innovation outlined in the Costa Rica Essential Licensing program. The analysis of this topic includes objectives related to designing a plan based on the Costa Rica Essential Licensing framework for implementing the criteria of Excellence, Sustainability, and Innovation at JR New Fruits, with a focus on improving the company’s image and positioning in the U.S. market. However, to address the case study, a mixed-methods literature review methodology was employed, involving both quantitative and qualitative data. This approach utilized an initial diagnostic analysis, the application of tools, and the structured compilation of archival documentation, which enabled the correlation of production operations with the criteria of Essential Costa Rica. Based on the above, the result is that the initial diagnosis identified JR New Fruits’ situation, which made it possible to determine gaps in compliance with each criterion and formulate concrete proposals to address these shortcomings. Thus, the initiative responds to the growing international demand for quality and best practices, going beyond basic regulatory requirements, and the plan seeks to integrate criteria of excellence, sustainability, and innovation as a competitive advantage. It is concluded that this study addresses the strategic challenges faced by JR New Fruits in relation to the Costa Rican Essential License, which necessitates the implementation of internal and managerial improvements. Therefore, it is recommended that the proposals presented be implemented as a key step toward obtaining the license, in order to strengthen the company’s image and market position in the international market.
