Resumen
Se da cuenta de los cambios que se han generado dentro de las prácticas agrícolas cafetaleras a raíz de la degradación ambiental provocada por la implementación de una caficultura intensiva, tecnificada y en expansión que tuvo lugar durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX en el cantón de Tarrazú. Se resalta el papel que jugaron instituciones públicas y privadas en la promoción de una caficultura más sostenible ambientalmente.
The article explores the changes that have been generated within the coffee farming practices in the wake of environmental degradation caused by the implementation of an intensive coffee farming, tech and expansion that took place during the second half of the twentieth century in the canton of Tarrazú. In this process, it is necessary to highlight the role played institutions, both public and private, in promoting a more sustainable coffee farming with the environment
