Resumen
En la actualidad por las condiciones de globalización, las exigencias competitivas del se
han visto incrementadas enormemente, tras la firma de tratados para el Libre Comercio con
regiones del primer mundo, lo que incrementa la necesidad por parte de las empresas
nacionales la adopción de estrategias empresariales que les ayuden a marcar diferencias
comerciales, frente a sus competidores para mantenerse dentro del mercado, con
posibilidades de crecimiento y expansión.
Una estrategia adoptada por parte de las empresas de servicios de almacenaje, venta y
distribución de productos es la incorporación de la logística, aplicada a la gestión de
almacén, para mejorar y analizar los flujos de materiales, recursos y espacio mediante un
adecuado soporte de información, que se ajuste a las restricciones comunes que enfrenta un
almacén como lo son:
* Limitación de espacio
* Ubicaciones fijas (Carga y descarga)
* Cantidad de recursos humanos disponibles
* Requerimientos de circulación
Buscando en todo momento como meta:
* Minimizar distancias recorridas
* Minimizar tiempos de viajes sin productos
* Minimizar costo de almacenamiento
* Maximizar nivel de servicio
* Maximizar control de bienes
