The chame, Dormitator latifrons, is a fish that lives in natural lagoons, estuaries and rivers, it is a species with very high conditions for reproduction in captivity. In some regions of Latin America it is grown in enclosures, collecting juveniles from natural environments where it grows, mainly when rivers and lagoons overflow. The objective of Our research was to induce the spawning of this species with the hormone GnRH, a releasing hormone of luteinizing hormone to obtain viable eggs and continue with the larviculture and development stage.
