It analyzes the effects of obesity in the social, emotional and academic areas presented by children from Fernando Valverde Vega, La Hermosa and Peñas Blancas schools, circuit 05, DRE. The research was developed under the qualitative approach. For the purposes of this research, students with obesity were taken as a population sensitive to the influence of certain social factors, which can affect the emotional area and, therefore, the child's performance. The participants were selected as follows: From the Fernando Valverde Vega School we will work with three second level students, one fourth level student, three fifth level students and two sixth level students; likewise, we will take into account the parents and the teaching staff in charge of the children under study, which is made up of five teachers. At the La Hermosa School, three fourth-grade students, four fifth-grade students and seven sixth-grade students will be attended to, as well as the parents and the teaching staff, which is made up of three teachers. At the Peñas Blancas School, the research will be carried out with one second level student, two third level students, one fourth level student, two fifth level students and seven sixth level students, as well as with the parents and the teaching staff, which is made up of eight teachers. It is concluded: social development is affected by obesity in children, due to the influence exerted in this area. Poor nutrition is one of the main factors that produce a state of obesity in children. The eating habits inculcated by their parents and those formed in educational institutions, become an ally for this disease; due to the fact that at home the diet is based mainly on fatty foods.
