Resumen
Esta investigación tuvo como propósito construir un perfil para el docente de III ciclo en el área de las ciencias. La investigación se ubica en una tradición propia del paradigma naturalista. Así mismo utiliza una metodología que integra datos cualitativos y cuantitativos, catalogada como mixta, la cual permite recolectar, analizar y vincular datos de ambos tipos en un mismo estudio.
El marco teórico que sustenta este trabajo contempla tópicos sobre educación, el papel del educador, la política ducativa vigente promulgada por el Consejo Superior de Educación, la mediación del docente en las diferentes áreas de las ciencias, sin dejar de lado el tema de perfiles, el cuál evoca distintos conceptos que están inmerso en el documento.
En la investigación se tomó en cuenta a tres docentes que laboran en un Colegio Público Diurno que se ubica en la Dirección Regional de Educación de San José Central; también se seleccionó como muestra dos grupos de sétimo año, dos de octavo y dos de noveno año.
Entre los principales hallazgos de la investigación están la importancia de utilizar ejemplos de la vida cotidiana para enlazar nuevos conceptos, la relevancia del proceso de comunicación para un buen aprendizaje, al igual que la motivación de los actores en el campo educativo; además de la importancia de contar con un ambiente de aula donde prevalezca el respeto, la cooperación y la colaboración.
Como conclusiones del trabajo, primero se destacan las virtudes y las cualidades de los docentes como la tolerancia, el amor al trabajo, la actualización, la paciencia y la firmeza en su actuar personal; segundo, que cada docente posee su propio estilo para organizar los procesos educativos.
Se recomienda que la presente investigación sirva de base para futuras investigaciones en otras áreas del currículo costarricense y que algunas instituciones educativas públicas y privadas puedan elaborar sus propios perfiles, sean para alumnos, docentes y comunidad administrativa.
The purpose of this research was to build a profile for the 3rd cycle teacher in the area of science. The research is located in a tradition of the naturalistic paradigm. Likewise, it uses a methodology that integrates qualitative and quantitative data, classified as mixed, which allows collecting, analyzing and linking data of both types in the same study. The theoretical framework that supports this work contemplates topics on education, the role of the educator, the current educational policy promulgated by the Higher Council of Education, the mediation of the teacher in the different areas of science, without neglecting the issue of profiles, which evokes different concepts that are immersed in the document. In the investigation, three teachers who work in a Public Day School that is located in the Regional Directorate of Education of San José Central were taken into account; Two seventh-year groups, two eighth-year groups, and two ninth-year groups were also selected as samples. Among the main findings of the research are the importance of using examples from everyday life to link new concepts, the relevance of the communication process for good learning, as well as the motivation of the actors in the educational field; in addition to the importance of having a classroom environment where respect, cooperation and collaboration prevail. As conclusions of the work, first the virtues and qualities of teachers such as tolerance, love of work, updating, patience and firmness in their personal actions are highlighted; second, that each teacher has their own style to organize educational processes. It is recommended that this research serve as a basis for future research in other areas of the Costa Rican curriculum and that some public and private educational institutions can develop their own profiles, whether for students, teachers and the administrative community.
