Del neutro al estándar : la mímesis en la serie infantil Los Backyardigans

Abstract

Este trabajo de graduación es una investigación monográfica sobre el desapego a las normas lingüísticas del español que se evidencia en el doblaje de la serie infantil Los Backyardigans. Como parte de esta investigación se explora la relación entre el texto audiovisual y el anglicismo de cultura como principal detonante de procesos neoculturales en sistemas lingüísticos establecidos. Ese vínculo traductológico y cultural conlleva a profundizar en el proceso de doblaje y el uso del español neutro como variante lingüística preferida para los doblajes latinoamericanos. Por ello se dedica una sección al análisis de las estructuras léxicas y sintácticas del corpus y se procede a comparar los hallazgos con las características morfosintácticas del español neutro. Esto se ha hecho con el fin de determinar si la interferencia lingüística del inglés al español se debe precisamente a esa variante neutral. La revisión de diferentes perspectivas sobre esa variante lingüística neutral hace que se dirija la atención hacia la actual industria audiovisual en Costa Rica. Lo anterior lleva a considerar el potencial del país como ente doblador. Tras un análisis sintáctico detallado se concluye que la presencia de anglicismos de cultura más que producto de una variante neutral es el resultado de procesos traductológicos muy literales. Se desprende de lo anterior que Costa Rica cuenta con todas las herramientas y facilidades para establecer un nicho de mercado en la industria de doblaje.

This graduation work is a monographic research on the detachment to Spanish linguistic norms evidenced in the dubbing of the children's series Los Backyardigans. As part of this research, the relationship between the audiovisual text and the anglicism of culture as the main trigger of neocultural processes in established linguistic systems is explored. This translatological and cultural link leads to an in-depth study of the dubbing process and the use of neutral Spanish as the preferred linguistic variant for Latin American dubbing. Therefore, a section is devoted to the analysis of the lexical and syntactic structures of the corpus and the findings are compared with the morphosyntactic characteristics of Neutral Spanish. This has been done in order to determine whether the linguistic interference from English to Spanish is due precisely to that neutral variant. The review of different perspectives on this linguistically neutral variant draws attention to the current audiovisual industry in Costa Rica. This leads to consider the country's potential as a dubbing entity. After a detailed syntactic analysis, it is concluded that the presence of cultural anglicisms is the result of very literal translational processes rather than the product of a neutral variant. It follows from the above that Costa Rica has all the tools and facilities to establish a market niche in the dubbing industry.
