enfermedades infecciosas.
Within the framework of the results-level evaluation carried out during the year 2021 at the School of Veterinary Medicine during the period 2010-2020, the evaluation of the Integrated Tropical Diseases Program (PIET) established in 1987. The objective of this evaluation was to evaluate the results of the research and its integration with teaching, extension and production that influence in “One Health” during the period 2010-2020 at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the National University of Costa Rica, as well as the factors, strengths and opportunities for improvement in the achievement of research results in the programs under study. These objectives were achieved through the execution of an evaluation at the level of results, summative and from the perspective of an approach mixed case study analysis. Bibliometric techniques were applied, altimetric measurements, analysis of co-authorship networks, participatory workshops and interviews with the purpose of generating results in the evaluation. As evaluation results It is estimated that the PIET is a socially relevant program, since it has lines of research that contribute significantly to public health Costa Rican: likewise, its contribution to the impact on teaching, extension, link paid externship and global industry in the field of veterinary medicine was significantly relevant in the study period, as well as the quality of the research results were of high scientific value. As recommendations, suggests deepening the lines of research that deal with the issue of prevention, treatment and control of infectious diseases, generate systematic efforts to open science, link existing lines of research to directed extension to the prevention of notifiable diseases and deepen the development and innovation efforts of medical technologies for the care of infectious diseases.
