Auditoría de la información aplicada en el Instituto de Investigación y Servicios Forestales para la evaluación de la gestión de los recursos de información

Abstract

Plantea como principal objetivo aplicar una auditoría de información (AI) con el fin de evaluar la gestión de los recursos de información esenciales del Instituto de Investigación y Servicios Forestales (INISEFOR), por lo que, se implementó el uso de técnicas para la recolección de datos, como el análisis documental, observación directa y entrevista a profundidad, además de fuentes personales como el equipo administrativo y académico que labora en el INISEFOR. También, fuentes documentales con la revisión de diversos documentos que sustenten los contenidos teóricos de las diversas metodologías aplicadas a la AI e información con respecto a los elementos que conforman la gestión de la información, los recursos de información, datos de la estructura y la cultura organizacional del Instituto. Como conclusión se refleja que hay un escaso conocimiento, en cuanto a la aplicación de la auditoría de información en las organizaciones. Adicional a eso, que los sistemas integrados para gestionar la información en la actualidad dirigen el flujo de información; sin embargo, no son estos los responsables de ejecutar correctamente el ciclo de información sino sus usuarios. Además, que el Instituto si posee los recursos de información necesarios para cumplir con los objetivos estratégicos y actividades sustantivas diarias. Se obtuvo como resultado un informe final con recomendaciones con base en los aspectos negativos y positivos encontrados en los recursos de información.

The main objective is to apply an information audit (IA) in order to evaluate the management of essential information resources of the Forestry Research and Services Institute (INISEFOR), therefore, the use of data collection techniques was implemented, such as documentary analysis, direct observation and in-depth interview, as well as personal sources such as the administrative and academic team working at INISEFOR. Also, documentary sources with the review of various documents that support the theoretical contents of the various methodologies applied to IA and information regarding the elements that make up the information management, information resources, data on the structure and organizational culture of the Institute. As a conclusion, it is reflected that there is a scarce knowledge regarding the application of information auditing in organizations. In addition to that, the integrated systems for managing information currently direct the flow of information; however, they are not responsible for the correct execution of the information cycle, but rather its users. Furthermore, the Institute does have the necessary information resources to fulfill its strategic objectives and daily substantive activities. The result was a final report with recommendations based on the negative and positive aspects found in the information resources.
