Gramática de la lengua jicaque. Esbozo

Abstract

La lengua tol o jicaque es una lengua hablada en Honduras, en zonas rurales que se ubican aproximadamente a unos 150 km al norte de Tegucigalpa. Históricamente, en tiempos precolombinos, según Holt (1999: 61), una posible distribución geográfica abarcaría las costa caribeña entre el río Ulúa al oeste, Trujillo hacia el este y adentrándose hasta el río Sulaco. El término "tol" corresponde al endónimo usado para referirse a la lengua y su forma plural "tolpan" se usa para denominar a la etnia, mientras que el término "jicaque", tanto para la lengua como para la etnia, es un exónimo que se remonta a tiempos coloniales.The Tol or Jicaque language is spoken in Honduras, in rural areas located approximately 150 km north of Tegucigalpa.
