The importance of sexuality for the person is a topic that is not under discussion today. The problem arises on the approach to it. For some people it is still a taboo subject and for others it is a representation of our existence. The results of a research with a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) are presented in this article. With reference to the first approach, a questionnaire was applied to 100 people, in order to collect general information about what both older men and women think about their sexuality; In the second, a workshop was held in order to find out the opinion and knowledge about sexuality of a sector of the population, in this case 20 older adult women. Among the main results it can be observed: Sexuality is conceived as a synonym of biological sex, as a relationship between people and heterosexual couples; a different construction is presented for feminine sexuality in relation to masculine; A stereotyped vision and management of sexuality as an instrument for human reproduction was determined in the elderly participants; a concept of sexuality restricted to coital and within marriage prevails, leaving aside caresses, kisses, hugs and only body contact; they consider that women are taught to be submissive and to please men, even against their wishes or preferences; the majority stated that beauty is not something necessary to feel sexual desire; Most of the participating people are not sexually active, but are interested in forming new partners and give great meaning to sexuality, among others.
