Abstract

La Escuela de Bibliotecologia, Documentación e Información, se siente muy complacida de participar en este V ENCUENTRO DE INVESTIGADORES EN EDUCACION. El aporte que la Escuela quiere brindar es sobre las fuentes de información en educación y las nuevas tecnologías que el país tiene para accesar información relevante y pertinente sobre el tema. Una educación como la costarricense que se esfuerza por interpretar y orientar una sociedad en constante cambio y que orienta estos cambios a objetivos concretos de bienestar para la realización plena del individuo y de la sociedad, basados estos cambios en un proceso educativo, que es baluarte de la libertad y de la democracia que vivimos en Costa Rica; este proceso educativo tiene que estar avalado por información, relevante y pertinente que representa en sus múltiples expresiones y niveles una fuente de riqueza natural, como promotora de nuevo conocimiento. Su intercambio facilita los descubrimientos, la aplicación de nuevas técnicas, las críticas de resultados de investigaciones y la formulación de nuevas teorías y procedimientos que se ajusten a nuestra realidad. La información como piedra angular de toda investigación, para generar nuevo conocimiento que actúe como agente de cambio para lograr mejores condiciones de vida.

The School of Library, Information, and Documentation Sciences is delighted to participate in this 5th Meeting of Researchers in Education. The School's contribution will focus on information sources in education and the new technologies available in the country for accessing relevant and pertinent information on the subject. An education system like Costa Rica's, which strives to interpret and guide a constantly changing society and directs these changes toward concrete goals of well-being for the full realization of the individual and society, is based on an educational process that is a cornerstone of the freedom and democracy we enjoy in Costa Rica. This educational process must be supported by relevant and pertinent information, which, in its multiple expressions and levels, represents a source of natural wealth, promoting new knowledge. Its exchange facilitates discoveries, the application of new techniques, the critique of research results, and the formulation of new theories and procedures that are suited to our reality. Information as the cornerstone of all research, to generate new knowledge that acts as an agent of change to achieve better living conditions.
