La memoria auscultada: Álvaro Montero Vega, de la evocación a la historia de vida

Abstract

Las historias de vida de los trabajadores organizados y su dirigencia, así como la recuperación de experiencias de vida de trabajadores no agremiados, es tarea aún pendiente para todos aquellos interesados en el rescate de la memoria popular costarricense. La tarea es urgente, indistintamente de sí se trata de preocupaciones reconstructivas poco elaboradas o de esfuerzos más inusuales de recuperación testimonial, en la vieja tradición de la historia novelada (1). La cuestión se hace patente si caemos en la cuenta de que la desmemoria que acompaña el paso de los años, y en no menor grado el desgano o desilusión por las viejas experiencias habidas, la sensación provocada por los nuevos tiempos, que originan crisis de conciencia y empequeñecen o desvalorizan antiguas vivencias, pueden hacer que la gente sin apelativos crea que nada de lo actuado tuvo en el fondo sentido, y que no vale la pena el recordar o hablar de cosas ya distantes y fenecidas

The life stories of organized workers and their leadership, as well as the Recovery of life experiences of non-union workers is a pending task for all those interested in the rescue of Costa Rican popular memory. The task is urgent, regardless of whether it involves reconstructive concerns little elaborate or more unusual efforts at testimonial recovery, in the old tradition of the fictionalized story (1). The issue becomes clear if we realize that the forgetfulness that accompanies the passing of the years, and to no lesser degree the reluctance or disappointment from old experiences, the feeling caused by new ones times, which cause crises of conscience and diminish or devalue ancient experiences, can make people without nicknames believe that nothing of what happened had in the deeply felt, and that it is not worth remembering or talking about things that are already distant and deceased
