In pursuit of what the Costa Rican legislation establishes, this article aims to “analyze the management of ordinary domestic solid waste produced in the community of Amubri Talamanca carried out by the Association of “Mujeres Labrando la Tierra”. The Association “Se ami pasto Iyuk Wablook” (original name in Bribri language) is presented as an alternative solution, in the indigenous territory in the Talamanca canton in the province of Limón; since they have managed to articulate with the municipality of the canton and carry out environmental education processes, reaching to modify environmental practices associated with an adequate management of solid waste in their locality.
