A ella, mi admiración y agradecimiento.

We have been living in a hot area for international politics for approximately five years, in which a series of elements, factors and political forces have come into play that have kept the region in the spotlight of the international community's expectations. It was the development and triumph of the revolution in Nicaragua, the element that lit the flame for a series of political, economic and military changes that have mainly affected the Central American area, but that at the time of its development 1978-1979, shook the entire inter-American system. It was then that I became interested in investigating why never before in the history of the Inter-American System had there been such Latin American solidarity as in the case of Nicaragua, and what were the motives for achieving it. On that occasion, for the first time, the United States government was losing control of the Inter-American System, the bastion of its interests in the region for all the years since its inception. What were all the conjunctural factors that made the Inter-American System, and specifically the OAS, serve for the first time as a unifying body for Latin American solidarity, in defense of positions in line with Third Worldist approaches. All these unknowns motivated the choice of the topic, apart from knowing that it was a subject that had not yet been researched. On the other hand, a research work on a specific unresearched topic is a legacy as didactic material, which will serve future students of international relations and as a means of information to the public, thus contributing to the desire of the National University, and the country in general, to improve education. - I do not pretend to say that my work is excellent, but rather that my mistakes serve as a basis for students to try to achieve a better academic quality every day. It is important to state, as a somewhat hard experience at the beginning, but undoubtedly enriching, that this topic of my research work is my second topic, because I started a joint thesis on the influence of inter-American politics on international politics in the Sandinista revolution'', after a year of working on this topic, for reasons beyond my control, my partner and I could not continue working together, so we asked the School to dissolve the topic. Again I had to initiate all the procedures, starting by changing the subject. However, the experience I gained from this first attempt to carry out the research was very valuable; much of the material collected was useful for me to work on this second research, and it also made it a little easier for me to search for new material and write the reports. It is very important to highlight the collaboration that I always found in my professor, Dr. Cristina Eguizábal, who showed me my failures, suggesting me everything to improve them, trying to ensure that in each report submitted there was a certain margin for improvement. In addition, once I had finished the first topic, she continued to give me support so that I would not falter and be left halfway. To her, my admiration and gratitude. Fran cisco Rojas, who tried at all times to offer his valuable help, and in the absence of the Professor, he took her place, alleviating the obstacles so that I could bring my research to a happy conclusion. - Another person who made it possible for me to reach the end of this research is Professor Jorge Cáceres, who gave me his collaboration and support so that I could begin this work. I also received the valuable collaboration of Margarita García Segura, Director of the Library of the School of International Relations. Ana Lucia Jiménez, Director of the CSUCA Documentation Center. To the faculty and staff of the School. To the valuable support that the Castro Barahona family gave me on this occasion, and to all the other people who in some way gave me their help, I express all my gratitude.
