Migración Escolar Interna: Factores económicos y educativos que conllevan a la población estudiantil a optar por pasar del Sistema Educativo Formal a la modalidad de Bachillerato por Madurez en el cantón de Desamparados (2020)

Abstract

El sistema educativo tiene como propósito la inculcación de conocimientos a estudiantes que se encuentran inmersos en esta institución, esto para que al culminar su carrera escolar puedan ser partícipes de la sociedad. Sin embargo, en esta carrera escolar se pueden generar diversos acontecimientos que conllevan a que haya estudiantes que no puedan culminar su proceso educativo y tengan que abandonar las aulas, mientras que, en otro caso, hay otro porcentaje que no pueden o deciden no continuar con sus estudios en la educación formal por lo que optan por culminar este proceso en otra modalidad de las que se ponen a disposición por parte del Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP). Esta transición que realizan las personas estudiantes de una modalidad a otra no ha sido investigada aún, por lo que la presente investigación pretende identificar y explicar los principales factores económicos y educativos que conllevan a que estudiantes no continúen con sus estudios en la modalidad de educación formal, y opten por continuar en la modalidad de educación abierta de Bachillerato por Madurez Suficiente. Por lo tanto, esta investigación permitirá contribuir a la generación de conocimiento en torno al movimiento realizado por parte del estudiantado de una modalidad educativa a otra; así como también servir de punto de partida para instituciones como el MEP y futuras investigaciones. Para esto, desde una perspectiva sociológica se aplicarán entrevistas a profundidad a estudiantes que actualmente se encuentren matriculados en la modalidad de Bachillerato por Madurez Suficiente y también, se realizarán entrevistas semiestructuradas a personal docente del Proyecto de Educación Abierta de la Escuela las Gravilias para obtener una visión institucional del problema de estudio.

The purpose of the educational system is to inculcate knowledge in students. who are immersed in this institution, this so that at the end of their school career they can be part of society. However, in this school career various events that lead to students who cannot complete their process education and have to leave the classroom, while, in another case, there is another percentage that does not they can or decide not to continue their studies in formal education, so they choose to culminate this process in another modality of those made available by the Ministry of Public Education (MEP). This transition made by students from one modality to another has not been investigated yet, so this research aims to identify and explain the main economic and educational factors that lead to students not continuing with their studies in the formal education modality, and choose to continue in the open education modality High School for Sufficient Maturity. Therefore, this research will contribute to the generation of knowledge around the movement carried out by the student body of a educational modality to another; as well as serving as a starting point for institutions such as the MEP and future research. For this, from a sociological perspective, in-depth interviews with students who are currently enrolled in the modality of Baccalaureate for Sufficient Maturity and also, semi-structured interviews will be carried out with teaching staff of the Open Education Project of Las Gravilias School to obtain an institutional vision of the study problem.
