Las iniciativas de la OIT sobre el VIH/SIDA

Abstract

El objetivo general de la investigación es analizar la construcción del género discursivo (aspectos gramaticales, terminológicos y de edición o formato de presentación) de un texto de un organismo internacional, como lo es la OIT. Los objetivos específicos pretenden informar con claridad cómo se va a llevar la investigación. El presente informe de investigación parte de la hipótesis de que las traducciones de los textos oficiales de la OIT tienen un formato muy específico, la traducción tiene límites muy rígidos que el traductor está obligado a seguir; pero aún con estas limitaciones hay espacio para la actividad creadora, como es el caso de la traducción de la voz pasiva.

En el capítulo 2 se analiza la voz pasiva y su traducción al español: su función en el texto original, sus características morfosintácticas en el texto original como en el texto traducido y el análisis de su aplicación en el texto traducido. En el capítulo 3 se consideran los aspectos terminológicos en el texto traducido, esto es, la traducción de las siglas y la terminología y, en cuanto a los aspectos de edición o formato en el texto traducido se observa el uso del punto y coma, los números enteros y decimales, el símbolo de porcentaje, el guión y la viñeta, los títulos y los subtítulos y la mayúscula. Y, en el capítulo 4 se presentan las conclusiones y aportes a que se llegó, resaltando tres aspectos relevantes, estos son: 1. con el fin de superar las limitaciones de la traducción se recurrió a las variantes de la voz pasiva en español y así no caer en el calco estructural de la voz pasiva inglesa; 2. el traductor tiene que buscar las formas y estilos más afines con el español contemporáneo, con el propósito de respetar las ordenanzas y directrices de la OIT; y 3. debe acatar la terminología establecida por la Organización. Además se destacan dos aportes: primero, ante el conflicto entre lo establecido por el organismo internacional y las normas vigentes del español actual, el traductor debe acatar las regulaciones del organismo productor del texto original, sin cerrar el espacio a la creatividad; y segundo, traducir es, y seguirá siendo, una tarea de inmensa responsabilidad institucional, social y personal, que exige al traductor una especial madurez y experiencia profesional para elaborar un texto meta que cumpla a cabalidad con los propósitos que pretende servir.The general objective of the research is to analyze the construction of gender discursive (grammatical, terminological and edition aspects or format of presentation) of a text from an international organization, such as the ILO. This research report is based on the hypothesis that the Translations of official ILO texts have a very specific format, the Translation has very rigid limits that the translator is obliged to follow; but still With these limitations, there is room for creative activity, as in the case of passive voice translation.

Chapter 2 analyzes the passive voice and its translation into Spanish: its function in the original text, its morphosyntactic characteristics in the original text as in the translated text and the analysis of its application in the translated text. Chapter 3 considers terminological aspects in the text. translated, that is, the translation of acronyms and terminology and, as for the editing or formatting aspects in the translated text the use of the period is observed and comma, integers and decimals, percent symbol, hyphen, and bullet, titles and subtitles, and capitalization. And, in Chapter 4 the conclusions and contributions that were reached are presented, highlighting three relevant aspects, these are: 1. in order to overcome the translation limitations we resorted to the passive voice variants in Spanish and so as not to fall into the structural tracing of the English passive voice; 2. the translator has to look for the most similar forms and styles with contemporary Spanish, with the purpose of respecting the ordinances and directives of the ILO; and 3. must abide by terminology established by the Organization. In addition, two contributions stand out: First, in the face of the conflict between what is established by the international organization and the current Spanish rules, the translator must abide by the regulations of the organism producing the original text, without closing the space to creativity; and second, translating is, and will continue to be, a task of immense responsibility institutional, social and personal, which requires the translator a special maturity and professional experience to prepare a target text that fully complies with the purposes it purports to serve.
