Efectos de la crisis originada por la pandemia del COVID-19 en las empresas del sector pecuario de la región brunca durante el 2021

Resumen
En esta investigación se detallan los efectos que la pandemia del COVID-19 causó en las empresas del sector pecuario en la región brunca. El objetivo principal, fue “Analizar los efectos que la crisis provocada por la pandemia del COVID-19 ocasionó en las empresas del sector pecuario de la región brunca, durante el 2021”. El territorio de investigación es la región brunca de Costa Rica, donde se analizó los principales impactos que ocasionó la pandemia en dicha región para el sector estudiado. Las fuentes de información utilizadas son personas tanto físicas como jurídicas de la región brunca que se dedican a la actividad pecuaria, específicamente a la cría de ganado, cerdos y aves. También se presentan las fuentes secundarias, como las bases de datos electrónicas proporcionadas por la Universidad Nacional y revistas electrónicas. Entre los principales resultados se puede destacar que los efectos más sufridos por los empresarios de la región brunca fueron el aumento del costo de las materias primas y la baja de ventas, lo que generó visiblemente la disminución del nivel de ingresos, afectando la parte financiera de la actividad. Se destacó la percepción de los empresarios hacia el Gobierno de Costa Rica y sus instituciones, ya que califican como mala y/o baja la ayuda brindada. De las conclusiones obtenidas, una de ellas fue el impacto de la pandemia en el sector pecuario de la región brunca, donde se disminuyó producción, ventas y los empresarios tuvieron que recurrir a préstamos o arreglos de créditos en entidades financieras. Entre las recomendaciones, se destacaron la necesidad de mayor educación financiera para los empresarios y más ayuda de parte del Gobierno a las personas o empresas afectadas.
This research details the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic caused in the livestock sector companies in the Brunca region. The main objective was "To analyze the effects that the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic caused in the livestock sector companies of the Brunca region, during 2021". The research territory is the Brunca region of Costa Rica, where the main impacts caused by the pandemic in this region for the studied sector were analyzed. The sources of information used are individuals and legal entities of the Brunca region that are dedicated to livestock activities, specifically cattle, pig and poultry raising. Secondary sources are also presented, such as electronic databases provided by the National University and electronic journals. Among the main results, it can be highlighted that the effects most suffered by the entrepreneurs of the Brunca region were the increase in the cost of raw materials and the drop in sales, which visibly generated the decrease in the level of income, affecting the financial part of the activity. The perception of the businessmen towards the Costa Rican government and its institutions was highlighted, as they rated the assistance provided as poor and/or low. Among the conclusions obtained, one of them was the impact of the pandemic in the livestock sector of the Brunca region, where production and sales decreased and businessmen had to resort to loans or credit arrangements in financial institutions. Among the recommendations, the need for more financial education for businessmen and more help from the Government to the affected people or companies were highlighted.
