Red de información de referencia de bibliotecas Universitarias en Costa Rica

Abstract

El estudio propone la creación de una red de información de referencia entre bibliotecas universitarias de Costa Rica para optimizar el acceso y uso de recursos informativos. A partir de un diagnóstico institucional, se identifican limitaciones en colecciones, recursos económicos y conectividad, lo que sustenta la necesidad de cooperación interbibliotecaria. La propuesta define objetivos orientados a mejorar el flujo de información, fortalecer la comunicación y maximizar los servicios de referencia. Se plantea una estructura coordinada mediante una instancia central que facilite el intercambio de información, el préstamo interbibliotecario y el acceso a bases de datos. Se concluye que la implementación de esta red permitiría superar limitaciones individuales y mejorar la calidad de los servicios informativos en el ámbito universitario.This study proposes the creation of a reference information network among university libraries in Costa Rica to optimize access to and use of information resources. Based on an institutional assessment, limitations in collections, financial resources, and connectivity are identified, thus underscoring the need for interlibrary cooperation. The proposal defines objectives aimed at improving information flow, strengthening communication, and maximizing reference services. It proposes a coordinated structure through a central office that facilitates information exchange, interlibrary loan, and access to databases. The study concludes that implementing this network would overcome individual limitations and improve the quality of information services within the university setting.
