Las posibilidades de las tecnologías multimedios en la educación matemática de Costa Rica

Abstract

Los multimedia es un concepto nuevo, pero de importantes implicaciones a nivel social. En la educación, ha venido a ampliar la didáctica tradicional, así como a cambiar el perfil del docente. El artículo ofrece una visión general al respecto, clarificando el significado de la palabra multimedia y ofreciendo sus potencialidades. Existe un debate respecto al uso de los multimedios en el salón de clase, sin embargo la idea no es generar polémica sino presentar alternativas en la utilización de nuevos medios que favorezcan el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

Multimedia is a new concept but with important social implications. In education it has augmented traditional teaching techniques and changed the role of the teacher. This article provides a general view of this while elucidating the meaning of the world “multimedia” and showing its potential. There is a controversy concerning the use of multimedia in the classroom. Nevertheless, our idea is not to generate further disputes but rather to show alternatives in the use of new media that favor the process of learning.
