enfermos” (1954), “El corsé” (aproximadamente 1950), “Autorretrato dedicado a
Trotsky” (1937), “Autorretrato con Stalin” (1954) y las páginas 114 y 115 del Diario de
Frida Kahlo titulada “Engels, Marx, Lenin, Stalin y Mao” (1953).
This article takes into consideration the Manifesto of the Communist Party (1848) by K. Marx and F. Engels as a political reference in the pictorial work of Frida Kahlo. The works chosen are the following: "Marxism Will Give Health to the Sick" (1954), "The Corset" (approximately 1950), "Self-Portrait Dedicated to Trotsky" (1937), "Self-Portrait with Stalin" (1954) and pages 114 and 115 of Frida Kahlo's Diary entitled "Engels, Marx, Lenin, Stalin and Mao" (1953). Thus, the concepts of communism and revolution in the Marxist text are exalted in the painting of the Mexican artist, as an ideological input and political affiliation.
