Resumen
La ubicación de Costa Rica en el extremo meridional de Centroamérica le otorga una situación privilegiada. Entre continentes y bañadas por el Océano Pacífico y el Mar Caribe, Costa Rica cuenta con una extensión territorial de 51.2000 Km2 y con una población de 3.234.133 habitantes a Enero de 1994. A pesar de su relativa pequeñez, Costa Rica se distingue por su diversidad climática y su belleza natural escénica, por la variedad de su cobertura vegetacional y la riqueza en flora y fauna.
Costa Rica's location at the southern tip of Central America gives it a privileged position. Sandwiched between continents and bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, Costa Rica covers an area of 51,200 km² and had a population of 3,234,133 as of January 1994. Despite its relative small size, Costa Rica is distinguished by its climatic diversity and scenic natural beauty, its varied vegetation cover, and its rich flora and fauna.
