Rojas e H. multicristatum A. Rojas.
Three new species of Hymenophyllum Sm. (Hymenophyllaceae; Pteridophyta) from Costa Rica and Colombia. In this paper three new species of Hymenophyllum Sm. are described and illustrated from Costa Rica and Colombia: Hymenophyllum densipilosum A. Rojas, Hymenophyllum hastatum A. Rojas and Hymenophyllum multicristatumA. Rojas. All species described here are related to H. plumosum Kaulf. by the densely hairy blade on both surfaces, stellated trichomes and the presence of wings or ridges on the dorsal surface of the veins. The first species differs from H. plumosum by 1-pinnate-bipinnatifid to 2-pinnate-pinnatisect relatively broader leaf, whitish to golden and appressed adaxial surface hairs and distributed at higher elevation. The second species differs from H. plumosumby less densely hairy blade, equilateral and hastate pinnae with two high basal lobes and broader adaxial wings of the veins. The third species is distinguished from H. plumosum because it has an oblanceolate leaf, more markedly incised pinnae, less densely hairy adaxial blade surface and veins dorsally with (2-) 4-5 parallel wings and sectioned on ridges.
