Análisis de periodicidad de la acumulación de sedimentos para el mantenimiento del canal y la dársena del muelle petrolero de Puerto Moín

Abstract

El puerto de Moín sufre problemas de sedimentación por causa del transporte de materiales desde diversas fuentes, en donde el mayor impacto por acumulación de materiales se refleja en la estructura del canal de acceso y la dársena del muelle petrolero; bajo esta premisa se genera la necesidad de investigar las condiciones del suelo marino en la zona, estudiar sus volúmenes, conocer sobre el estimado de acumulación anual y realizar un estudio para la programación de los dragados. Se analizan dos épocas de campañas batimétricas, que incluyen observaciones, mediciones y dragados; la primera es realizada en 2008 por la empresa colombiana Dragados Hidráulicos; la segunda se lleva a cabo en 2010 por la compañía holandesa Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors. Ambas campañas contienen diferentes etapas de levantamientos sobre el mar; la primera es un levantamiento posobra de dragado de la dársena y la segunda, un levantamiento preobra o predragado. Estas son supervisadas por la Refinadora de Petróleo Costarricense. Se efectuaron diversos modelados que representan la realidad del lecho marino; lo cual permite estudiar, mediante los resultados, las diferentes profundidades por zonas específicas. El fin primordial es generar información valiosa sobre la periodicidad de la acumulación de los sedimentos, para el mantenimiento por medio de los dragados del canal y la dársena del muelle petrolero, y para la eventual toma de decisiones de las instituciones gubernamentales correspondientes.

The port of Moín suffers from sedimentation problems due to the transport of materials from various sources, where the greatest impact due to the accumulation of materials is reflected in the structure of the access channel and the basin of the oil dock; Under this premise, there is a need to investigate the conditions of the sea floor in the area, study its volumes, learn about the estimate of annual accumulation and carry out a study for the programming of dredging. Two periods of bathymetric campaigns are analyzed, which include observations, measurements and dredging; the first is carried out in 2008 by the Colombian company Dragados Hidráulicos; the second is carried out in 2010 by the Dutch company Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors. Both campaigns contain different stages of risings over the sea; the first is a post-work survey of the basin dredging and the second, a pre-work or pre-dredging survey. These are supervised by the Costa Rican Oil Refinery. Various models were made that represent the reality of the seabed; which allows to study, through the results, the different depths by specific zones. The primary purpose is to generate valuable information on the periodicity of the accumulation of sediments, for maintenance through dredging of the channel and the basin of the oil dock, and for eventual decision-making by the corresponding government institutions.
