dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study was to identify risk factors of nonsuccessful pregnancies in a Costa Rican community during 2004. Out of 20 pregnancies, 4 resulted in stillbirths, 3 in miscarriages, and 1 in a congenital malformation. The community inhabitants attributed thi outbreak to the pesticide use in a nearby melon plantation.
dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de este estudio fue identificar los factores de riesgo de embarazos fallidos en una comunidad costarricense durante el 2004. De 20 embarazos, 4 resultaron en mortinatos, 3 en abortos espontáneos y 1 en una malformación congénita. Los habitantes de la comunidad atribuyeron este brote al uso de pesticidas en una plantación de melones cercana.
